L-1B Intracompany Specialist

For employees with specialized knowledge transferred within a company.

About this visa

L-1B classification supports transferring an employee with qualifying specialized knowledge from a foreign operation to a related U.S. organization. That knowledge may concern the organization's products, services, research, equipment, techniques, management, or processes and procedures.

This route fits employees whose company-specific expertise is needed in the U.S. A qualifying corporate relationship and the required foreign employment must be established. The evidence should explain what the knowledge is, how the employee acquired it, and why the U.S. work requires it.
