P-1 Athlete or Entertainer

For internationally recognized athletes and entertainers.

About this visa

P-1 classification covers eligible athletes and certain members of internationally recognized entertainment groups coming to the U.S. for qualifying activities. P-1A and P-1B have distinct requirements; this is not a general work visa for every performer.

It suits qualifying athletic competitions, team participation or entertainment-group engagements. Evidence must address the relevant recognition standard, the proposed events and any membership requirements. Contracts, itineraries and a required labor consultation form an important part of the filing.

What's included

  • ◆Attorney assessment of the appropriate P-1 classification.
  • ◆Review of athletic or entertainment recognition evidence.
  • ◆Contract and itinerary review.
  • ◆Guidance on group membership evidence where applicable.
  • ◆Coordination of the required consultation or an available exception.
  • ◆Petition preparation, USCIS submission and receipt tracking.
