TN NAFTA Professional
For professionals from Canada and Mexico under USMCA.
About this visa
TN classification permits eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens to undertake qualifying professional work in the United States. Known by its original NAFTA name, the category continues under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).
The proposed work must fall within a listed profession, and the applicant must meet that profession's credential requirements. A degree alone does not establish eligibility for every role. The process differs for Canadian and Mexican citizens, and may depend on whether the applicant is already in the United States.
